This morning, 4LR entered their classroom to find a pile of rubble had been discarded. They made observations as to what they could see: matches, some clothes, soil, wood, bits of paper.
Upon collecting the bits of paper, they realised these were numbered and perhaps a clue to what all the mess was about. When they had put themselves in order, they read the clues aloud and discovered the events of the great gunpowder plot. They were then able to explain why there matches in the rubble, predict that the clothes belonged to Guy Fawkes and guess that the soil represented the gunpowder.
Their great detective skills shaped an exciting and informative morning ahead of our Year 4 firework display this evening.
