Celebrating Heroes from the LGBTQ+ community
All this week children throughout the school have enjoyed finding out about different people and their stories. Across the school, we’ve celebrated the lives and achievements of many people from the LGBTQ+ community and completed a range of activities to explore their work.
Year 2 completed some codebreaking and made codes of their own while finding out about the life of Alan Turing. While Year 4 looked at the life of Harvey Milk and the creation of the Rainbow Flag. They designed their own flags and wrote slogans to encourage people to be themselves and respect others. Year 5 wrote poems inspired by the works of Audre Lorde. Year 6 looked at the fashion designs of Manish Arora and created their own designs that represented each of them.
