Both year 5 classes read ‘Robinson Crusoe’ as their classic text. The children were excited to visit Bluebell Wood where they practised their own survival skills building shelters, fires and water collectors using materials they found. The children wrote diary entries from Robinson Crusoe’s perspective and mapped out the places he travelled to whilst he was trading. They also wrote a script of the story and acted it out.
5LO class created a replica of Robinson Crusoe’s camp as part of their final display whilst 5NR built a fleet of replica ships.
Their class books contain copies of the wonderful writing they did and is in our Child of Books display.
