It was lovely to be joined by a number of parents as our year 2 – 6 pupils celebrated Harvest festival at St Mary’s church on Monday. The service was led by Reverend Lea, whom the children know well from his visits and assemblies over recent years at our school. The main focus of worship was thankfulness. We were reminded to be thankful for what we have and to the importance of sharing with those less fortunate than ourselves. The school has partnered with the church in supporting the local charity CHESS, who seek to relieve homelessness and related hardship and distress amongst single adults. The children had been asked to provide a gift of non-food items and these were offered up during the service. Thank you to all of you who sent in such generous donations. Congratulations to Mr Harris and Mr Heath who work so tirelessly in teaching our children and the choir the songs of praise that we sing and to Mrs Rogers and Miss Rogers for their excellent planning of the service.
