Children and parents came together at St Mary’s Church this morning for our Harvest Festival service. Led by Rev Tom the children sang their harvest hymns and songs and made their food and store cupboard essential item donations. This year we are donating to the Little Edi Foundation. This is an Essex based non-profit charity helping children in the UK. Their hub is based in Chelmsford and they support children and their families in the local area, including Great Dunmow.
Rev Tom cleverly used a doughnut analogy to give thanks for everything we have rather than worrying about what we don’t have…this was very ably demonstrated by Mrs Charter and Mr Jarvis who enjoyed their mid-morning “doughnut worry” game which the children loved watching.
