We were very proud of our Music Maestro choir this weekend as they performed alongside the vibrant Amici Cantate choir at Thaxted church. The ‘Sleigh Ride’ performance on Saturday evening was in aid of St Clare’s Hospice, a charity providing specialist palliative care for people living with terminal or life-limiting illnesses across West Essex and East Herts border. The children were extremely excited to be given the opportunity to rehearse and perform a number of Christmas songs including ‘Ring out the Bells’ and an alternative version of ‘Away in a Manger’ along-side the Amici choir. Mr Toby Heath choirmaster for Dunmow St Mary’s said; “It was a hugely successful event with several hundred audience members enjoying the choral arrangement. For many of the children it was their first time performing in front of a live audience and I was really proud of each and every one of them for all their hard work and commitment to learning everything off by heart and performing with such confidence.
