A special celebration of Poems and Poets was held this week. The children were inspired to read, write, share and perform their favourite poems with some fantastic results. There were Haiku style poems from our Year 3 children based on their Stone Age topic and Vedas from our Year 5 children celebrating their India topic. Each of our Infant classes learnt and performed a poem to their parents including the ‘Owl and the Pussycat’ and ‘Ten things found in a Wizard’s Pocket’. At break time the children discovered that a Poetry Graffiti artist had been at work covering the school buildings with quotes from famous poems. ‘This school has gone Poetry crazy’ one child laughed as the children raced to find the different poems.
