We had a fantastic array of book characters at school on World Book Day. Well done to all the children (and their parents) for the efforts they went to with their costumes. World Book Day provides a lovely opportunity for us to celebrate the characters, books and authors that we love as well as focusing on the key message of the day ‘Share a Story’. Teachers had prepared special literacy sessions and worked with a class other than their own on an activity based on a story their choice. In assembly Mr Harris shared the story of Dusty an unloved and unwanted library book stuck on the top shelf. He set the children their own ‘Dusty Mission’ to become agents seeking out any unread books in our library and sharing these stories with their classmates.
