The pupils (and their parents) and staff outdid themselves this year with almost every member of the school community dressed as their favourite book character. The children enjoyed lively assemblies from the ‘Just Imagine Story Centre’ team and lots of book related activities in their classes. The year 2 classes shared with each other ‘The book that made me fall in love with reading’; the reception classes brought in their favourite books and made new book covers for them and the year 5 classes wrote character descriptions of the characters they were dressed as. The themed lunch proved to be our most popular ever with 326 children tucking into Harry Potter’s chicken broomsticks and Roast Fox Sweet Potato chips. With £290 raised for Book Aid International through £1 donations the day was a huge success.
